Wuhan Laboratory Investigation
Last week the USA, UK, and Australia demand China allow the research teams of these nations to investigate the reason behind the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan Institute of virology, in fact, USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand form an Intelligence sharing group called "5 Eye" who also wants to investigate in Wuhan laboratory and find out whether COVID-19 spread from Wet Market or accidentally released from Wuhan's laboratory. China rejected the demand by the USA and other countries politely because they are powerful countries but when Australia keeps rising this issue in the International platform China literally threatens Australia to impose economic sanctions on them. Australia depends on China for exports of coal, and students from China studying in Australia contributing a huge chunk in Australia's economy, and over 25% of the export from Australia goes to China hence we can say Australia is dependent on China economically.Suggested Read: What is NASA’s CIRES Mission?
China taking advantage of Australia's dependence on its exports gives a strict warning to Australia that it will impose trade sanctions on Australia. The Chinese Ambassador to Australia Cheng Jingye openly says that the Chinese market will be closed for Australian products and their citizens are highly patriots and after hearing this news they will boycott Australian products and Chinese students will avoid studying at Australian university.
Australia earns $37.6b from university annually in which China alone contributes about $12.1b and India about $5.5b if Chinese students avoid Australia would be a heavy loss for the Australian economy. China and Australia's bilateral trade is about $200b which is a huge dependency of Australia over China.
